TECNO Pouvoir 4 Pro: Unboxing, Full Specs and First Impression

So there’s a new player in the Philippine market in the smartphone category, TECNO Mobile. And I will share with you my first impression about one of its flagship phones to date, the Pouvoir 4 Pro, which they called the “ENERGY KING”. Why energy king?, you’ll know about it later.

Just have to give credit for the TECNO Pouvoir 4 Pro’s case design which can give added protection from accidental spills.  The screen protector though is not yet installed(I hope TECNO will install it already on their future smartphone releases- but still thank you for the free screen protector????)

Compared to other smartphones with the  same price point, it’s a plus that Pouvoir 4 Pro  comes with  an 18W Speed Charge charger which can charge up from zero percent to 100 percent in a little less than 3 hours. Most android smartphone devices in the market offer less.

EXTERIOR:

TECNO Pouvoir 4 Pro will definitely enhance your mobile gaming and watching experience with its 7” Dot Notch Screen. Honestly, it’s quite big,but its not hard for me to take a grip of it. It also has  (720×1640) HD display which runs on TECNO Mobile’s HiOS 6.0, giving a smooth interface. Though I think it kinda lacks in saturation. Well, for me it’s just ok because sometimes highly-saturated colors can be too straining to the eyes.

A dual flash can also be found near the corner of the phone which also lights up while charging the phone unit.

On the right side, you’ll find the Power and volume up/down buttons. On the opposite side is where the pinhole ejectable nano sim/sd card tray, and the Google Assistant button(red) are located.

At the bottom, you can find the mic, 3.5mm headphone port, micro USB port. and one of the two Stereo Speakers(the other one is located on the earpiece area above the front camera.)

On the rear part is where you can find the fingerprint scanner, the quad-camera with 16 MP primary cam and a quad LED flash.

In terms of the build and design, TECNO did a good job where it uses a glossy, 3D curve plastic material at the back giving a very elegant look and feel. Since the finish is not matte, you will observe some fingerprints, and touch marks after holding it. So I suggest that you use the free case provided in the package to prevent it.

CAMERA:

One of the factors to consider when buying a smartphone is the camera. For a budget smartphone, TECNO Pouvoir 4 Pro can really take pretty decent shots. Both on its rear and front camera. TECNO even included Google Lens which can be of use when you turn on the camera.

FRONT CAMERA: Pouvoir 4 Pro has a 16MP dual flash camera where you can enjoy different features such as AI Cam, Beauty, Bokeh, AR shot, and Panorama. I like the AR shot feature the most and I’m really impressed how it can emulate my  real-time facial reactions. So cool!

REAR CAMERA: Pouvoir 4 Pro houses a 16MP AI Quad camera, two 2MP cameras,  an AI lens with quad flash. Cool right? for just how much, you’ll get a quad camera phone already. I only tested this for daylight mobile photography and as you can see on the photos below, it has nice range of colors, though it lacks a little bit of sharpness. Still, the photo qaulity are pretty decent for its level.

PERFORMANCE:

When I got this smartphone, I was really excited to try it. Aside from the big 7-inch(90.55% screen ratio)display, Pouvoir 4 Pro is packed with a 6,ooomAh battery which claims to last for four days straight with just a single charge.

The battery power management of this phone is good. I started using the phone at 100% battery life and after an hour of playing games(at 75% volume and screen set at full brightness), few browsing in social media and shopping apps, the level drops to just 89%. Cool! just 89 percent after all the those mobile activities.  No wonder  it’s called the “ENERGY KING”.

Imagine what more you can do with this smartphone. More video streaming, playing mobile games, browsing social media, finish your online work. This phone could also be your study partner for online schooling since it can last longer hours or maybe your selling partner when you do live online selling.

The Pouvoir 4 Pro the I’ve got is equippped with 2.0GHz octa-core CPU with 6GB + 128GB(also available in 4GB + 64GB)memory. I noticed though when playing Mobile Legends,the graphics jitter a bit when I turned on the Shadow, Outline, HD, HFR, and HIGH graphics all at the same time. But after adjusting some settings, everything runs very smoothly already. I tried several social media applications and it works very well- browse, scroll up/down with no lags. Remember this is considered as an entry level smartphone so don’t expect too much especially on heavy processing or high-graphic games. You can always adjust your settings like I did. For me as long as it is playable and does not lag. I’m good with it.

One of the best feature of the Pouvoir 4 Pro is the Health reminder feature which reminds the user to take a break by popping up a notification on the screen telling you that you have played long hours already(2 hours/4hours). This is really helpful for me because whenever I play mobile games, because I usually lost track of time.

HOW MUCH? The TECNO Mobile Pouvoir 4 Pro is priced at PHP 5,990 for the 4GB + 64GB model and PHP 6,990 for the 6GB + 128GB. Available in 3 colors: Ice Jadeite, Misty Grey, Fascinating Purple

So, that’s my initial impression about TECNO Mobile’s Pouvoir 4 Pro.  Overall, it is a very decent smartphone to buy considering its features, especially if you want a high-capacity battery. For its pricepoint, it can deliver and give you an “Always Power On” smartphone experience.
