The Women Build Movement of Habitat For Humanity Philippines just kicked-off last February 28, 2015 at Bistekville 4, Quezon City The said program aims to empower women, invest and advocate for simple, decent, and affordable houses around the world.
It was pure “Girl Power” that day when the build program was participated by Bb. Pilipinas 2015 candidates and the women employees of JP Morgan to take part in making actions against poverty housing conditions. Inspite the sunny and hot weather, these ladies did not mind the scourching heat and managed to do something extraordinary to help building these homes.
The Philippines currently has a housing backlog of approximately over 4 million families which is projected to rise to 6.5 million by the year 2030. Another fact is that 4 out of 10 families live in slums. With Habitat For Humanity Philippines‘ Women Build Program and more will definitely address these housing problems that our fellow indigent kababayans are experiencing.
Here ae some ways to paticipate:
Building: Local and international volunteers are working alongside each other on Women Build sites around the world.
Investing: Women Build groups and invividuals financially support Habitat’s locala nd international projects that help women, children and the disadvantaged living in poverty housing.
Advocating: habitat provides a voice to mothers, orphans, and the disadvantage to help secure property rights, safer communities and access to basic services.
