FOOD TRIP: King Bee Chinese Food

King Bee Chinese Restaurant started and originated in Brgy. Manggahan, General Trias, province of Cavite on August 17, 2001 and was named after its owner Mrs. Ang Ong King Bee.

King Bee serves various authentic Chinese recipes such as dimsums, roast specialties, noodles soup and other main courses.

Last August 24, 2012 a Bloggers’ Food Tasting Event was held at the King Bee Chinese Restaurant Commonwealth branch.

THE PLACE: King Bee Chinese Food, Commonwealth Branch

The facade of the restaurant is very wide. It has spacious parking space so you will not have a problem parking.

King Bee Commonwealth branch has nice interiors that matches with the food it caters… Authentic Chinese food. Inside the resto, you can here chines tunes that adds to the Chinese theme ambiance.

Their comfort rooms and wash area is very clean and smells clean too…

King Bee Restaurant Commonwealth branch has function rooms(one function room good for 36 persons and one function room good 24 persons). These function rooms are good for occasions, meetings and events.

THE FOOD:

Winter Melon Soup

I love how King Bee presented this dish, very creative and its really big 🙂 . A combination of mushroom, shrimp, bacon bits, green peas, shredded chicken and some winter melon(not the milk tea hehehe ). Best when served hot.

Dimsum Platter

Composed of Pork Siomai, and Birds Eye Siomai(If you like shrimps you will love it too), and the very known Chicken Feet. I like the siomai, very authentic taste. It is very different than other siomai being sold commercially.

House Specialty Roast Chicken

Who wouldn’t love eating chicken? roasted chicken in particular. King Bee’s roasted chicken has a very distinct taste and I can’t describe how. Maybe they have a secret ingredient for the chicken to taste that way. But it taste good. The chicken was properly roasted .

Sliced Beef with Broccoli Flower

The beef with broccoli combination is a must have at King Bee. the beef is well cooked, it is not hard to chew. The broccoli is very crunchy, not overcooked and you can see that it is really fresh.

Sauteed Crystal Prawn Balls with Cashew Nuts in Taro Nest

I love this dish, the vegies was creatively served in a taro-made nest dish. There’s no throw up in this dish… you can eat everything in this dish, from the vegies, cashews, shrimps down to the taro nest. (Munching on the taro nest is very addicting hahaha I can’t help but picking part by part of it.)

King Fish in Thai Sauce

This is a very nice dish. The fish was cooked until it is crispy then adding green and ripe mango with the sweet chili sauce gave the taste of this dish a different twist.

Yang Chow Fried Rice

This meal is an all in one meal heheheh 🙂 A combination of rice, egg shrimp and some veggies.

Chinese Pastries (Official Name is not yet finalized)

Dessert time! The brown one is called by the waiter “Raddish Roll”, a deep fried pastry. My personal favorite, It doesn’t have a name yet but I will call “Chewy Mango Ball Crepe” It is not that sweet but you will love it while you’re chewing it. You will definitely ask for more.
