Just recently, DIMSUM BREAK had their Grand opening for their newest branch at The Annex Sm North Edsa, Quezon City, their very first branch in Manila.
How did DIMSUM BREAK started?
Dimsum Break takes its concept from the family’s first venture in fast food business, the Ding How Dimsum House. Established in 1969, the brand pioneered the concept of all-day dim sum dining in Cebu.
In 1996, Dimsum Break was launched in response to a challenge posed by a mall operator’s offer of serving the dining needs of mall’s late night clientele at the bowling area and movie cinemas. With an initial seating capacity of not more than 40 patrons, the small area made it difficult to apply the serving method of HCDHCI’s (Harbour City Dimsum House Co., Inc) other brands at the time which involved dim sum carts.
A year after the launch, Dimsum Break expanded in Metropolitan Cebu. Branches opened in Gaisano Fiesta Mall in Tabunok in 1997, Mango Square Mall and GMC Arcade in 2002, Elizabeth Mall in 2003, Ayala Center Cebu and Colon Street in 2004 and Banilad Town Center in 2005. A new breed of Dimsum Break stores opened in Parkmall and Avila Building in General Maxilom Avenue in 2012, and Pacific Mall in Mandaue City in 2011.
Dimsum Break has the widest and very affordable selection of dim sum. I have come to try DIMSUM BREAK‘s first branch here in Manila, located at the third floor of The Annex SM North Edsa.
Some interiors like the lights used are very fascinating, bringing a chinese ambiance to the restaurant
On the counter is a display of over 20 steamed and fried dim sum dishes and desserts ready for customers’ picking.
Dimsum Break serves quality dim sum cuisine. They offer very affordable meals that will not hurt every customer’s pocket and give them the complete and satisfying dim sum experience. (well, i did! Very much satisfied 🙂 )
Some of the best selling dishes under fried dim sum are the succulent crab pincer, stuffed shrimps, and crispy spring rolls. For steamed dim sum, the shaomai varieties, especially the chunky pork and shrimp are the bestsellers.
Here are some of DIMSUM BREAK’S selection that we I have tasted.
FRIED DIMSUM FOR ONLY 65 Pesos EACH
Crab Pincers
STEAMED DIMSUM FOR ONLY 65 Pesos EACH
Shaomai
RICE POTS FOR ONLY 68 Pesos
They also have Chili sauce and Ginger Sauce to add up the flavor. It will really boost your appetite. I love it when it is put on my dim sum and rice pots meal. Simply the Best!!!
And for dessert we have tasted Two of their bestsellers…
Coconut cream and Mango Custard
Over all I am very much satisfied with all the selection that we ordered. TWO THUMBS UP!!! This restaurant really offers REAL and AUTHENTIC Chinese dishes in a dash! And to mention VERY AFFORDABLE Chinese meals. I woul definitely go back to dine here and would recommend it my family and friends.
