Just recently, I got an invitation from Converse Philippines to try one of their newly released kicks under its Spring 2016 Collection, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Knit, and took it for a “wear test” through a Food Wok in Binondo.
I’ve been to Binondo many times, but I never get to explore it that much. Binondo or Chinatown is one of the popular places in Manila that you can visit anytime whenever you are in the capital city. If you roam around the place, you will see different food establishments and stores, mostly Chinese. Plus you get to appreciate the chinese culture and heritage there.
I love my new Converse kicks. It’s super nice and it’s RED! Just look at the details of this new Chucks. The new Chuck II Knit Collection explores innovative materials, with eye-catching colors and woven textures that embody the spirit of the upcoming music festival season.
The depth of colors executed on the sneakers is influenced by the Illuminating kaleidoscopic light shows found at music concerts. A dimensional look-and-feel is delivered through the ultra thin, tightly interwoven knit material. The exterior details elevate Chuck Taylor’s most recognizable features with a fully embroidered All Star ankle patch, high foxing and monochrome matte eyelets.
Since I got the red color of the new Chuck II Knit, It felt like I’m one with the place hahaha!. Well if you will look around Chinatown you will see that the red color dominated the area. Well, It’s a lucky color. So lucky me. 🙂
Our approximately three and a half hours Binondo Food Wok was led by Ivan Man Dy, a registered tour guide from Old Manila Walks (www.oldmanilawalks.com).
Well, If you are joining soon the Food Wok in Binondo, don’t expect to have a ride going from one food stop to another. It is a Food Wok or lets say food “walk”. Just like our group, we just walk… and walk… and walk. Or maybe run at times we are being left behind hahhaha.
Chuck II Knit sneakers are not just fashionably beautiful externally but also very comfortable wear. Imagine us walking to and from resto to resto but my soles did not sore at all. Thanks to Chuck Taylor II Knit’s Lunarlon sockliner, a nonslip padded tongue and an ultra-soft micro-suede lining which provided that extra enhanced comfort.
So, before you watch my video about our food tour, let me give you a rundown to where and what we had at the Binondo Food Wok:
