As we reach “ber” months in the Philippines, everybody knows that the longest holiday season has just begun, and that is CHRISTMAS SEASON. With that, SM City San Mateo has created a fun and magical Christmas centerpiece inspired by the whimsical display Hysan Place in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong for their shoppers and immerse them to a magical world of toys.
Welcome to SM City San Mateo’s Santa’s Christmas Toy Village!
The centerpiece is a charming toy shop with a large clock, surrounded by festive decorations. In front of the shop sits a plush armchair for Santa Claus to sit on as he greets the visitors at his toy village. A cheerful group of elves, dressed in their traditional green outfits, play around the display, adding to the joyful atmosphere. A sleigh stands nearby, ready to take Santa on his Christmas journey. The entire scene is set in bright and warm area on the second level of the mall, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance for all.
The ceremonial lighting is graced by Rizal Board Member John Patrick Bautista, San Mateo Vice Mayor Jimmy Roxas, and Councilor Joey Briones. They are joined by SM executives led by Regional Operations Manager Don Edward Vijandre and SM City San Mateo Assistant Mall Manager Sean Arroyo.
To add to the festive mood, performers from Madison Events entertained the audience with a delightful musical show. PPop boy group, Cloud 7, also present during the lighting ceremony hyped up everyone with a performance of the Christmas hit, All I Want for Christmas is You.
We were able to meet Santa Claus himself as he appeared at his toy village to spread cheers to all who joined the festivity. Children and adults alike had the opportunity to meet and greet the jolly old man and shared their Christmas wishes.
This year’s SM Bears of Joy are so cute! For only P280, shoppers can purchase a pair of adorable SM Bears of Joy. One bear can be kept as a cherished keepsake, while the other will be donated to a charity chosen by SM.
