Batangas Earth And Fire Festival 2016 was a blast this year. All thanks to Lima Park Hotel who organized this yearly festival(now earth and fire) in partnership with TEAM GANIT and First Asia Institute of Technology Humanities(FAITH), NAYOMI Sanctuary Resort, FASTECH and the local government administration of Balete, Batangas.
That day also marks the opening of Lakeshore Café alongside with Taal Lake Cruises’ first sailing of the MB Lady of the Lake.(Will do a separate blog post for my cruise experience.) And for the whole day, everyone, locals and tourists who registered were able to board and ride the MB Lady of the Lake for FREE and cruise the scenic view of taal lake.
John Prat’s Nayomi Resort and Aqua Sports were also introduced to the public with speed boat, banana boat, flying fish and jetski rides.
Of course, we(me and Rey Belen of www.Lifestylebucket.com) did not pass on the opportunity to try to ride a speedboat. We did enjoy it. Both of us are first time riders 🙂
Batangas Earth And Fire Festival 2016 main event, the Sunset Duathlon, is a 5k run-20k bike-3k run relay event participated by cyclists, runners, extreme sports enthusiasts, duathlon athletes, mountain bikers who are up for a very challenging course. Some participants, Male or Female or mixed with ages ranging from 16 to 40 and above competed as a solo competitor and some as a team of two.
I really admired their determination to finish the race. I saw the course and to my surprise the uphill part really shocked me. Plus, the scorching heat has to be endured at that time of the day. So imagine how hard it is especially for beginners like me(if I did join the race). So Bravo for the participants!
But then again, no matter how hard it was for the runners and bikers to finish the course, seeing this lovely view of Taal lake can somewhat ease their tiredness.
While waiting for the participants to finish the race, we headed back first and watched the sunset. Beautiful… Thank you Lord for creating something like this.
So the results came in. And here are the winners for the Batangas Earth And Fire Festival 2016 Sunset Duathlon event. Winners were awarded with Trophies, medals and cash prizes.
And what a nice way to end up a great event. PARTY PARTY TIME! It was total festivity at Batangas Earth And Fire Festival 2016. Live music, firedance, fireworks. Total entertainment. Can’t wait for the next year’s festival.
