The heavy downpour of rain did not stop the participants from enjoying the 11th Robinsons Supermarket Wellness Buddy Run at the parade grounds of Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City. Just like what they announced, Rain or shine, the event will push through… and it did.
Parents and kids, siblings, lolos and their apos, loved ones, officemates, best friends, couples, and even neighbors—ran in the 5K and 10K category.
The fun run is in line with Robinsons Supermarket’s wellness commitment to continuously encourage more people to choose and live healthier lifestyles.
“We are happy to provide an opportunity for people to start their wellness journey in a fun and one-of-a-kind event with their partners. After all, getting fit and choosing the healthier lifestyle is more worthwhile when shared with a buddy,” said Jody Gadia, Robinsons Supermarket general manager.
More than 300 runners enjoyed getting wet while running and lining up on different booths for freebies, cool activities, free tastes and samples. Since it rained, the run was no longer timed and participants were allowed to claim their grocery lootbags whether they finish the run or not. These grocery loot bags containing items from Nestle, Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth Nutrition, Abbott Nutrition, Fonterra and Unilab, has been the trademark of the Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run through the years. It’s so heavy. But a good problem though. haha!
Coaches Jim and Toni Sarret hosted the 11th Robinsons Supermarket Wellness Buddy Run program and were joined in later on by different celebrities such as Mikael Daez, Jesse Mendiola and many more. I love coach Jim and Toni. It’s like they both have unlimited energy.
This is actually our 3rd year running on this event. It was really fun as always, that is why we look forward to this yearly event. Even though we weren’t able to run that much because it’s raining, and our shoes are not meant to get wet, we still enjoyed the event. Maybe next year if it rains, we will be ready! Will definitely buy running shoes that will not break apart even if it gets wet ahahah!
