I’m not the kind of person who applies a lot of skin care products on the face. I actually use about 2-3 products for my daily facial care routine.

Yes there are a lot of good products in the market that we can use, but we should always remember that our facial skin needs to breathe from time to time. So I think this Althea Bare Essentials’ 3-step skin care is just right for my daily beauty routine.
Let me share with you guys and gals my thoughts and first impression about Althea BARE ESENTIALS. Are these products a good buy or not? Will tell you my recommendation by the end of this blog.
Let’s start with the packging. Althea BE’s(BE stands for “Bare Essentials”) packaging is a two thumbs up for me. It has a plain and minimalist look, but exudes elegance. When I first saw the packaging, I said “Wow! These items look like high-end brand. All of it. From the box to the product itself. I love it! ????”
The bottle caps are super nice as well❤. 2 of 3(Fixer cream and Primer water) has the Althea brand logo which added to classy look of the product.

Like any other skin care products that I apply on my face, it is always a must do for me to do an allergy test. Though the Althea Bare Essentials are hypoallergenic and are said to be suitable for any skin type, I still need to do it just to make sure that my skin will not react badly on the products. Thankfully, there’s no adverse reactions and I’m all clear to use all of them.
Riding on today’s current minimalism movement, Althea’s Bare Essentials focuses on skincare fundamentals and dropped all the non-essentials. These thoughtfully crafted products give the benefits of the infamous 10-step Korean skincare routine, rolled into 3 quick and easy steps.
STEP 1:
Althea Contour Cleanser 150g (Php 300.00)
Packed with soothing Ice Plant and detoxifying Lemon Myrtle extracts, this cleanser is densely filled with micro capsules that burst upon contact with water to gently cleanse, exfoliate, and detoxify skin. The Contour Cleanser helps to promote blood circulation, reduces bloating and swelling for a defined, enviably slim face shape.
I’m just on the first step, yet i’m loving it already. Althea Contour Cleanser has that mild lemon scent that is so refreshing. There’s also some micro beads which surely removes the impurities and dirt from my skin. After I washed the cleanser off my face, I felt totally cleansed and got that soothing feeling that I always look for on a cleanser.
STEP 2:
Althea Primer Water 200ml (Php 550.00)
Both a hydrating toner and a primer in one, the Primer Water contains patented dewdrop technology (Macro Fluidic Dispersion technology) that gently fills the gaps between pores and allows hydration to penetrate deep within the layers of the skin. Made with Snow Lotus extracts, this skincare heavy hitter has an incredibly smooth and silky texture that enhances the skin’s natural glow, leaving you with the perfect canvas.
After using the contour cleanser, I moved to the next step which is the Althea Primer Water. This one has a translucent, slightly viscous fluid which I thought at first would leave a sticky feeling on my face. But it didn’t because it was quickly absorebed by my skin, plus leaves a light and silky feeling. So true to its product claims. ????????????
Since it is my first time to use this, I’m hoping to see improvements on my succeeding usage. But so far, so good.
STEP 3:
Althea Fixer Cream 50g (Php 640.00)
This non-oily, quick-absorbing formula harnesses the power of Trehalose, an ingredient found in the cactus plant that prevents its moisture loss, to provide the skin with 24-hour hydration. This ultra-nourishing wonder cream is also rich in antioxidants derived from Camellia Sinensis (green tea) seed oil, and helps to promote collagen regeneration using Baobab Tree extracts. Upon application, your skin is left looking great and feeling bouncy to the touch.
Then i’m down to the last step of Althea Bare Essentials 3-way skin care, which is the Althea Fixer Cream. At first I was hesitatant to use this product because the cream looks too thick. Of course I want my face to feel refreshed and I don’t want to have that heavy feeling on my face.
But still, i tried and applied it on my face. During application, I’ve felt that it’s quite sticky on my face. But as it dries off, the sticky feeling disappears leaving my skin soft to touch. Promise it is really soft to touch. I’m glad I tried it. I hope you could try it too.
