1. Before you wash freshly colored hair, wait for three days
Remember the 3-day rule. Do not wash your hair for at least 72 hours after coloring, because if you do, the color will wash off easily. Let it rest a bit for the color to stay more on your hair. After 72 hours, just wash your hair every other day or 2-3 times a week. You shouldn’t wash more than that unless you’re you go out a lot or been doing heavy workloads at home.
2. Avoid High Temperatures
High temperatures can fade and even damage color-treated hair. So if you are planning to do a hot bath, or use heat styling tools such as curling irons, hair straighteners, and blowdryers, then think again. As the outer protective covering of the hair is disrupted when you apply heat, it opens up the cuticle and the dye bleeds out easily. I suggest using a thermal protectant hair serum or spray if there’s a need to style your hair.
3. Trim the Tips
Dead hair ends usually won’t hold color and fades faster than usual, so make sure you are cutting off those dead ends every 6-8 weeks so your hair color will still look vibrant from root to tip.
4.Use a Color Protectant Shampoo and Conditioner
