The movie director Richard Somes reiterates that this is his personal myth on the Philippine folklore, but researches were also done to see and know how people live in those times. Skylight Films and Reality Entertainment stresses that even though it looks like a horror film, “Corazon, Ang Unang Aswang” movie theme is about a dramatic love story of two people Corazon(played by Erich Gonzales) and Daniel(portrayed by Derek Ramsey” who showed unconditional and unfailing love for each other in the film.
