“Star for All Seasons” Vilma Santos is back again on big screen with Star Cinema’s newest suspense-horror movie “The Healing”, directed by highly acclaimed film producer, film writer and one of the best directors in the Philippines, Chito S. Roño.
As Vilma Santos celebrates her 50th year in showbiz, “The Healing” is her comeback movie after “In My Life” which was 3 years ago and this new movie pays tribute to her 50 memorable years in showbiz.
“It’s a perfect project after “In My Life”. And since I don’t do movies that frequent, I might as well give the public something different”. “This is my first time to do a suspense-horror and I’m so proud of it” said Gov. Vilma.
Gov. Vilma Santos shared “I’ve been asking for so long for something like this, I’m so glad that it’s finally happening. With the undeniable top-caliber of Star Cinem, Direk Chito S. Roño, and our award winning cast, how can I go wrong!”. She also added, “True enough, “The Healing” is totally a new brand of suspense-horror that will surely make a mark in the Philippine horror cinema. “Stories about the Filipino tradition of going to faith healers for guidance and treatment of ailments have not yet been tackled in-depth in movies. And in our film, the viewers will not just be horrified, they’ll somehow be challenge to think as to how faith healing has already been a part of our culture”.
This movie “The Healing” has a powerhouse cast namely, Kim Chiu, Janice de Belen, Mark Gil, Martin del Rosario, Allan Paule, Cris Villanueva, Daria Ramirez, Ces Quesada, Ynez Veneracion, Simon Ibarra, Abi Bautista, Joel Torre, Chinggoy Alonso, Mon Confiado, Carmi Martin, Pokwang, and the Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos.
Just Recently, a Blogger’s Conference was held for the movie “The Healing”. Present in the event were Director Chito S. Roño, the writer of the movie Roy Iglesias and Gov. Vilma Santos herself. The three were very accommodating to answer all the questions being asked of them.
“The Healing” is the only movie who got Two(2) MTRCB Ratings, the R-18 which is the Director’s cut, all in version and PG-13 for a refine version of the scenes. Movie goers will have the liberty to watch whatever ratings they want to. If you are brave enough to watch the gory, scary scenes and you are 18 years old and above then watch “The Healing” R-18, if you are want the refined version of the gory and scary scenes then you can choose “The Healing” PG-13. Cool right?!
