This is so cool. Althea Korea, my favorite korean beauty store, already has their very own product. Their very first product in the market which will definitely be loved by many of its patrons… The Althea Petal Velvet Powder.
Having an oily face even after applying makeup is really a problem for me for so many years. I remember always having an oil control paper in my purse to at least lessen the oiliness of my face especially whenever I am out. I use about 2-4 sheets, so imagine how oily my face was back then.
When Althea Korea introduced their very own brand of loose powder which is the Althea Petal Velvet Powder, I was one of the very first few to try it out before it was introduced in the market. (Thank you Anis and Tammy!???? you guys are the best!)
I did not hesitate to try the product because it was made mainly from pure, cruelty-free and natural ingredients such as follows:
- Althea flower extracts
- Green Tea Seed oil
- Mandarin Orange peel oil
I super love this product. I’m not brown nosing, but I really do like it and what it can do to my face every after I apply my make up. Since it’s a loose translucent powder, it wouldn’t whiten your skin when you apply it but only leaves a silky matte and smooth finish(Please see photos above). With this, pores became less visible as well. It’s also lightweight as if you did not put anything on your face at all.
With Sebum control function, Althea Petal Velvet Powder made my face clear from being oily for about 3-4 hours(unless I perspire). This was based on my actual usage. Honestly, even if I don’t re-apply the powder I noticed that my face is not that oily compared before.
It’s nice that Althea Korea made this product compact and handy. It could fit even in a small purse. Actually, when I first saw Althea Petal Velvet Powder and the amount of powder in it, I thought that it wouldn’t last long. But I was wrong. For a product with a size this small, i’m truly impressed and was able to use it for months. It’s practical to use, and very much affordable(Here in the Philippines, the price is just P210).
Regarding Althea Petal Velvet Powder’s packaging, It looks very nice for it’s price range. It comes with it’s own box, powder puff, and the powder itself was enclosed in a small hard plastic container.

Overall, just like what I said in my video, I would definitely recommend it especially to those with oily skin like me. I will most certainly re-purchase and include it again on my next Althe Korea haul. ☺️
