A Water that Moisturizes Your Skin…Avéne Thermal Spring Water

Avène Thermal Spring Water

Having a sensitive skin is hard(and kinda expensive to be honest hahaha!). I cannot just use any skin product that I want, because most of the time my skin reacts badly. That is why I always see to it that I only use products  that are as much as possible “natural” or at least products that are gentle on my skin.

Just recently, I got a package from Avène containing some of their products available in the market.

  • Avène Thermal Spring Water- 300ml PHP 1,158, 150ml PHP 750, 50ml PHP 585 .
  • Hydrance Optimale Light Hydrating Cream- PHP1,400
  • Hydrance Optimale Serum Hydrant Hydrating Serum – PHP1,984
  • Hydrance Optimale Aqua Cream-in-gel- PHP 2,973

But in this blog, I will be focusing more on my thoughts about Avène Thermal Spring Water.

A Water that Moisturizes Your Skin...Avéne Thermal Spring Water
Avène Thermal Spring Water comes in three(3) sizes: Regular size(300ml)PHP 1,158, Medium size(150ml) PHP 750, Pocket size(50ml) PHP 585 .

Maybe you are wondering or asking. “How can this product have benefits on skin? It is just water right?”.  To answer that, Avène Thermal Spring Water isn’t just a regular water. It originated from the local spring water of the beautiful mountains of Cevennes France.

According to the French Academy of Medicine, Avène Thermal Spring Water is a one-of-a kind product which contains minerals that can restore the skin’s natural balance, has healthy benefits and therapeutic properties(can reduce inflammation, relieve irritation and speed the skin’s healing process).

For years I’ve been suffering from a skin condition called, Eczema, specifically located on my lower legs. Eczema is a skin condition where patches of skin become inflamed, itchy, red, cracked, and rough. Thankfully, mine is just mild and it’s not that evident at times(if you will not look at it closely) but there were times that it is so itchy. I had it checked by a dermatologist, and was advised to keep the area moisturized all the time.

Having said that, applying lotion is not enough which I normally do everyday after taking a bath. I need something(preferrably pocket-size) that I can bring and apply anytime of the day, especially when I’m out doing my errands.

So just recently, I started using Avène Thermal Spring Water which thankfuly comes in pocket-size packagingIt has a very very mild powdery and clean scent which I like because I prefer skin care products with less scent or no scent at all.

As I spray it on the eczema-affected area of my leg(during itch-attacks), the cold mist instantly gave a refreshing feeling which lessens the itchiness. I’m also using Avène Hydrance Optimale Serum Hydrant Hydrating Serum(for dehydrated sensitive skin) and Hydrance Optimale Aqua Cream-in-gel alternately to moisturize the area even more. Both are actually intended for the face, but you know what? it actually works well too on my eczema and find it effective. ????

I am also using the Avène Thermal Spring Water on my face and I love the fact that it is NEUTRAL( has pH of 7.5) which maintains a balance of my skin, HYPOALLERGENIC(unlikely to cause an allergic reaction) and NON-COMEDOGENIC(does not cause blocked pores) so it is really safe to use especially if you have sensitive skin and that goes as well with other skin types.

Aside from irritated, inflammed, itchy skin, you can also use Avène Eau Thermale Thermal Spring Water on the following:

  • After shaving
  • After hair removal
  • After skin cleaning
  • Diaper Rash
  • Post procedure
  • After sun exposure
  • After sports activites
  • Damaged skin or for wounds.
  • Puffy eyelids
  • Setting makeup
  • After removing makeup

HOW TO PROPERLY USE Avène Thermal Spring Water

Hold upright. Do not Shake. Spray it on the skin in a fine mist. Leave on for 2-3minutes then gently pat dry. Use as often as necessary.

Overall, I love using Avène Thermal Spring Water. It may be a bit pricey to be honest, but it is worth a try. It works for me, I hope it works for you as well. So if you are an Avène user already or planning to make the switch, just go to the nearest  Watsons and department stores nationwide. Avène products are waiting for you there. ☺️
